KVKK Privacy Notice

1. Personal data processed

• Identity and contact: Name or nickname (if given), e-mail address, the unique user ID (UID) received through Apple / Google sign-in — only if you create an account.
• Customer transaction: Lector Pro subscription status and plan (payment details are processed by the stores and not kept by the data controller).
• Usage (reading and learning) data: Marked words, FSRS review records, reading progress, streak and time statistics, badges — on your device; also backed up to the cloud if you link an account with Lector Pro.
• Translation requests: The word/paragraph text you ask to translate and the language codes (passed to the translation service on request and not stored).

The content of the book files you load may contain personal data; this content is processed on your device.

2. Purposes and legal grounds

The Reading Ritual reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device; it sends no data to servers, and you can turn the notification permission off at any time in your device settings.

3. Transfers, including transfers abroad (KVKK Art. 8 and 9)

• Translation: Text you ask to translate is passed to Google LLC's (USA) translation service; English dictionary lookups go to the Free Dictionary API.
• Cloud infrastructure: Account and backup data of Lector Pro users is hosted on the servers of our cloud infrastructure provider; servers may be located abroad.
• Payments: Subscriptions are processed by Google Ireland Limited and Apple Distribution International Ltd.

Transfers abroad are made in accordance with the conditions of KVKK Art. 9 (adequacy decision, appropriate safeguards / standard contract, or explicit consent in exceptional cases). Apart from these, your data is not sold to third parties or shared for advertising; it may be disclosed to legally authorised public institutions upon request.

4. Method of collection

Your personal data is collected electronically and by automated means through the App interface, the Apple / Google sign-in services and the app stores.

5. Your rights under KVKK Art. 11

By applying to the data controller, you may: learn whether your personal data is processed and request information if so; learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly; know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred; request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate; request deletion or destruction under the conditions of KVKK Art. 7; request that these actions be notified to the third parties to whom the data was transferred; object to a result against you arising exclusively from automated analysis; and claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing.

The Profile › Data Management › Delete Account and All Data step in the App lets you exercise your right to deletion directly and free of charge. You can request a copy of your data by e-mail free of charge.

6. How to apply

You may submit your application, in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, from the e-mail address registered to your account or by a signed letter, to the e-mail or postal address in the section below. Your application will be concluded free of charge within 30 days at the latest; if the action requires an additional cost, the fee set by the Board may apply.
